Hi Seniors... It's Christmas Week....

Endocrine Test is tomorrow.
It will be hard, I am sure you have all been reviewing your notes daily, and studied this weekend. A few things to remember are listed below.

Study... Study... Study!!!

Focus on
1.  The difference between steroid and protein hormones
2.  Where the receptors are for each
3.  Know all the hormones of the Anterior and posterior pituitary and their basic functions
4.  Know the hormones of the thyroid/parthyroid gland and their function. Which of the thyroid hormones are most abundant.
5.  know the actions of parathyroid hormone / target cells
6.  what mineral is necessary for thryroid glands to function
7.  Know the actions -good and bad of cortisol
8.  Know the renin-angiotensin system
9.  What hormones are involved in the stimulation of this system.
10.  You should know what a follicle is as well as the hormones it secretes. What is the corpus luteum and what does it secrete?
11. Know all the diseases of the endocrine system......hypoand hypersecretion of the hormones cause diseases....
12.  what is a normal calcium level and blood sugar level in the blood
13.  Know the S&S of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia
14. Know the difference between Type I and Type II diabetes...cause, what it affects etc
15. Know thymosin too.... Function and where it's secreted
Good luck!
